Next Smile Australia ‘Save Our Smiles’
It was great to work with Welli (Wellison D’Assuncao) again. He came to us with this clever and simple creative campaign and he’s always collaborative in his approach. The Save Our Smiles idea was to take people that have had their “terminal teeth’ and shoot them in one shot, forming the “O” in SOS with their mouth, then closing their mouth and opening to reveal their new confident smile.
The tricky aspect was replacing their new teeth in the “O” shot with photo-real replicas of their old “terminal teeth”. It was a difficult technical ask. The spot relied on us delivering one seamless photo-real shot.
We created a precise technical workflow to deliver this effect. It allowed us to perfectly track head, mouth and lip movements so that the CGI creations would sit perfectly in the mouths of the patients as they created the revealing O shape. Next Smile, the client provided us with some great reference of their previous teeth so the CGI team could meticulously sculpt and create the replica inner mouths. We performed a test shoot to determine framing, lighting, test tracking and most critically, timing of the action.
Our DOP, the talented (and always pleasant) Felipe Neves did a beautiful job directing the talent, lighting the scene beautifully and ensuring the the footage was delivered to technical requirements.

THE CGI was meticulously crafted and composited into the shots with a result exceeding the client’s expectations.
